A HISTORY OF THE GATES OF HECK

The Gates of Heck first came to be as a painted homage to Rodin’s Gates of Hell, a monumental sculpture depicting characters from Dante’s Inferno.  During the two years the painting took to complete, I wrote an album of songs from a contemporary perspective inspired by my reactions, thoughts and feelings to Dante’s poem about his journey through the underworld.

In 2012 the project became a multi-media performance in collaboration with The Border Corps. Finally, in 2017, it has been realized as a stylistically diverse album of songs. You can buy the CD here from my website. Or you can download the digital version here.
